We Interrupt This Epic...

For a random poem, written on the spot.

These nights blur
No line between dream and life
And what lines were are now erased
By the way my mind will whir

Sleep wake faint
Do not sleep at all
Or the nightmares come
To my mind to taint

Vivid horrors from days past
Wake me shake me
Tear me up
Until I feel I won't last

I cannot scream cry sob
My tears fall but voice locks
As shadows mock me
Like a coming mob

I know these shadows by name
They've blurred my reason
Stuffed my mind
And brought me such shame

And these nights blur
No line between dream and life
And what lines were are now erased
By the way my mind will whir

My heart bleeds freely now
Torn open and shredded
Do You see me
Please sew me up somehow
Events crash around me
The pain and turmoil
Quadrupled by one's death
And my heart cries intensely

God, oh God of creation!
This burden weighs heavy
You promised it light
Mercy though I've brought damnation

And these nights blur
No line between dream and life
And what lines were are now erased
By the way these shadows whir

Wash my hands, oh Lord of Hosts
Of this sickness
Wash my hands
Of these vengeful ghosts

You love me so much despite these!
You take me up
You hold me close
And You wash me of this disease

And these nights, peace
No line between dream and sleep
And what sins were are now erased
By the way You bring release

The Great Blood Beast: Part 5

She felt warm.
Her mind groggy and weak.
Did she die?
Or was it that dream?
She felt strange, like new,
Yet her mind felt bleak.
What is happening?
She heard a voice.
Soft, smooth, serene.
Now wake, child.
Like a fluffed quilt.
Someone held her.

An attempted blink.
She breathed deep.
Wait, she thought,
Why do I smell blood?
This startled her.
She woke cautiously,
Lifting her eyes to see...
Whoa.

He giggled.
"Ah, you've come back."
"What do you mean?"
"Don't you know?
This is more than a dream."
Shock had settle in.
She didn't understand.
"It will soon be clear."

Her mind was frantic,
Not clear at all.
She willed to stand,
Only to fall.
He clasped her hand
And held her up.
Her legs were weak
And wobbled in her shock.

She thought a moment.
Who is this man?
He answered her,
"The name's Talon.
You know who I am."
She remembered
By his golden eyes.
The black jaguar
Was his disguise.
Her distrust eased,
Then she walked light.

"Hold tight"
"What?!"
"Grab my arms."
Then she knew,
His face confirmed.

They were gonna fly.

She grasped his neck,
Surprisingly tightly,
Waiting to feel air underfoot.
"You don't trust me?"
He giggled.
Her eyes shut,
Not daring to look.
